Please note a recent change, which is that the Sponsor Equipping Meeting (previously shown on the Preparation Timeline to occur this Spring/Summer) is being replaced with an online class that sponsors can complete at home. The class will take no longer than 2 hours to complete and is self-paced, meaning it can be done anytime. It will consist of recorded videos of the same content that was previously presented during the Sponsor Equipping Meetings. 

I apologize for our lack of earlier communication about this change. We ran into a number of issues scheduling the meetings, and in doing so, realized there was another way to provide sponsors with formation about their role without requiring them to attend a meeting.

Full details for accessing and completing the online class will be shared with the sponsors by the end of July. At present, we're working to compile the class content, and are also tracking down some outstanding Saint and Sponsor Forms from some of our candidates.

The Sponsor Equipping Class will prepare sponsors to help their candidates complete the Sponsor Accompaniment Requirement. This requirement asks every candidate and sponsor to meet and complete a set of provided materials together. This should take place sometime between now and January. Your child's sponsor will learn about how to schedule these meetings with your child and make it a fruitful and enjoyable for both of them during the Sponsor Equipping Class (see above).

For your planning purposes, our Confirmation Mass will take place at 6:30 PM at St. Patrick on one of the three following dates:

We submitted these 3 dates to the Diocese based on our parish calendar and priest/staff availability. We should hear from the Bishop’s office in August or September regarding which one of these dates has been scheduled, at which point I can let you know what the official date of Confirmation Mass will be.

I'm happy to share that Samuel Ekblad, our new Associate Coordinator of Youth Discipleship, will be providing additional support for Confirmation preparation going forward. While I'll continue to oversee Confirmation, Sam will be assisting with communication and other aspects of preparation, as needed. Please join me in welcoming Sam to St. Pats!
